I hear you. The world's driving me mad. I keep telling myself that my peers don't lack empathy, they're just not taking things seriously. But with how much I'm connected with this all the time it's really hard to see when that's bullshit.

It's about power
They want everyone to cater to them.

This isn't about porn or gooner brain or whatever, it's not even about looks, this is about power. They don't want to see beautiful women, they want all women in media to be nothing but objects for the pleasure of (white) men.

So, for me to buy into whatever AI you have, I need a useful device that fits the first three criteria. I can do the fourth.
So that means, as of now.... autocorrect and word complete on your phone. And the first one barely works.

and run the program from your own PC (or a single server computer), it probably is.
Is it destroying the environment - Same thing with "Is it stealing other people's stuff?"
Are you reliant on it? - You still need to know how to rotoscope those fucking power lines.

A bit of a litmus test for AI and model size:
Is it doing any creative work for you? - It's not going to enrich your life rotoscoping out power lines. But making good looking costumes out of old clothes and junk is great.
Is it stealing from other people's stuff? - Unless you can store the data...

Well I live in Carbondale. It's a nice little town. Smallish but not without things to do.

I'm on 2 anti AI blocklists and I would be fine with small language models capable of being trained without theft. You have that on your phone.
But LLMs, not even once.

I have a feeling that a lot of these older people who say these things don't actually understand why we don't like it. It's not the technology, we don't think robots are going to come take our jobs. It's the data theft and the environmental issues.
