Hotel hangover thought: 3 percent of humans have antisocial personality disorder. If you have 1,000 followers, you are having more interactions per day with more sociopaths than the average prison guard

A fair number of problems seem downstream from the fact that the best way to be a human is to grow, change, and evolve but the best way to be successful online is to never change and always double, triple, and quadruple down every time you are wrong.

I have seen at least one and I saw Get Out pretty much immediately so I’m resentful of the conclusion you’re chasing there. Would have been safer to use Black Panther

And then when Gein is starting to die I started CRYING and I’m like why am I crying and it was either because I would cry if you showed me any old guy getting ready to die or it’s because that actor really carried that thing and I guess it can be both

The last quarter of that thing…where they seemed to be homaging not simply Douglas and Ressler but specifically their “characters” from Mindhunter..? So weird. It’s like they ran out of stuff to do but still had too much money left which I didn’t know ever happened in TV

David Simon, creator of ‘The Wire’, being interviewed by Ari Shapiro (NPR)
SHAPIRO: OK, so you've spent your career creating television without Al, and I could imagine today you thinking, boy, I wish I had had that tool to solve those thorny problems...
SIMON: What?
SHAPIRO: ...Or saying...
SIMON: You imagine that?
SHAPIRO: ...Boy, if that had existed, it would have screwed me over.
SIMON: I don't think Al can remotely challenge what writers do at a fundamentally creative level.
SHAPIRO: But if you're trying to transition from scene five to scene six, and you're stuck with that transition, you could imagine plugging that portion of the script into an Al and say, give me 10 ideas for how to transition this.
SIMON: I'd rather put a gun in my mouth.

I’m certain there are many. But I thought the biggest fabrication of all was the idea that he had a girlfriend. So when I googled it and found out he kind of did, I withdrew my expertise

So it’s “info dumping” if someone tells me how electricity works but that 20 minute story about a dead grandma I’ll never meet was your grand display of empathy

enjoyed aspects but I think that’s as close as I’ve gotten to being “offended” by true crime. The defense’s case was offensive back then and it felt like that production was mostly celebrating and supporting claims against victims made by murderers

One thing I’m certain of is that the lead was incredible. All the cast was. Production, wardrobe… it’s an incredibly expensive look into a dirty shoebox of genitalia. Compared to the Dahmer thing, Gein is pure ghoulish spectacle but it’s …good at being ghoulish spectacle

wanted to list the amount of fictionalized Gein details, but…in looking up details I’m discovering i knew WAY less than I thought I did and mistook my ignorance for the show’s fabrication. I was confused about why they’d do that. answer might be: it didn’t. So, fuck it, two necrotized mom thumbs up

Watched Monster: Ed Gein. Didn’t outright dislike but didn’t understand a lot of choices. Felt like message was “everyone co-opted Gein and he never got credit.” But it shows you everyone giving him credit. And..well, wearing corpse tits isn’t quite like inventing jazz or coining “eyebrows on fleek”

I am still at “entering REM for first time in a decade resulting in nightmares from which I awake to find a terrifying thing on my face” stage but I’m not going to give up. My record is 47 minutes

Checking back. I had predicted this would be more of a volcano. Maybe he’s one of those nonconfrontational hecklers, I’ll take a quick peek at his profile - OOOOOKAY new theory maybe he tried to head butt a moving train

Nope. I’ll put it on my list. Is that a 2021 remake of a 60’s horror (I googled it but didn’t want spoilers)

Eddington: masterpiece. Weapons: masterpiece. Companion: masterpiece. Can’t wait to see One Battle. Might have to go to a theatre? Movies are good again? Or maybe I’ve entered an unpublicized phase of old age where I like old man things like peppers and lumber and hard to pin down characters

What was copped out of? Can you explain? Can you please rephrase your thoughts in different words until I have clarity? Talk more but talk different. Talk how I understand talking. So that I understand you. Can you do that for me? I’ll really appreciate it. Or not. I’ll let you know.
