I attended my suburban #NoKings rally (~5k there?) last time and I don't think I've ever experienced anything that felt so neighborly. Every. Single. Demographic. imaginable. We were all there for the same reason, all smiling and laughing and hollering together for a couple hours. It was awesome.

Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing?

I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up.
Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?

True story: I was listening to Marc when driving from Seattle to Portland the night Osama bin Laden was killed. I had no idea and couldn't figure out why there were so many soldiers celebrating near Joint Base Lewis-McChord along I-5.
