I like how the tree that the wren is sitting on circles around to draw the eye back to the hen. This piece has a sweetness about it, imagining what the 2 birds are conversing about.

Hen and Wren.
Ink and gouache on Fabriano Medioevalis, approximately 95 × 64 mm.

Drawing in black ink, primarily in silhouette, of a hen and a Wren regarding each other quizzically. The hen stands in a patch of wild grasses whilst the wren perches on a small, leafless shrub in front of her. The hen's comb and wattle are the only touch of red gouache. The drawing is finely wrought and intricate. The piece is roughly the size of a business card.

This clip is from 2019. This was a larger piece and here I was using a Kuretake synthetic fountain brush pen rather my usual Chinese brush.

Cool. I didn't have the can of cream of chicken soup, but did have cream of potato. Also only have frozen corn. Trying to use what i have. I may fry up and add some onions and celery to it.

Our final day in Surrey took us first to St John's Belmont. We viewed LSL's large window from the opposite balcony, standing in front of an older Victorian window which had been moved there from St Lawrence, but turned around so that the weathered masonry was now 'indoors' 1/3 #StainedGlassSunday
