Oh, I see, I didn't know how it worked. That sounds hard to control, so all of my ideas are not practical, sorry. I thought you could paint it on after the ink dried. Using a powder like that would be difficult. Eeek!

Oh good, packing can be monotonous, so you need a break & it will recharge your batteries, so you'll probably get more done. Hope you have a fun day with your friend. Do they live far away? Is that why you won't see them till next year?

Hadn't seen Ascent, but like how the dragon is above the landscape(skyscape?), that's a nifty touch. The one with 2 moons is one of my faves.

I like how the tree that the wren is sitting on circles around to draw the eye back to the hen. This piece has a sweetness about it, imagining what the 2 birds are conversing about.

Hen and Wren.
Ink and gouache on Fabriano Medioevalis, approximately 95 × 64 mm.

Drawing in black ink, primarily in silhouette, of a hen and a Wren regarding each other quizzically. The hen stands in a patch of wild grasses whilst the wren perches on a small, leafless shrub in front of her. The hen's comb and wattle are the only touch of red gouache. The drawing is finely wrought and intricate. The piece is roughly the size of a business card.

This clip is from 2019. This was a larger piece and here I was using a Kuretake synthetic fountain brush pen rather my usual Chinese brush.

It's understandable that you'd feel upset, but reducing the stress about it will probably be much better for your health. It sounds like you have a well thought out plan & a realistic view of what it will bring, which is very sensible. Hope that it will work out. Stay strong!

You're welcome. Would the gold variations work with sunlight or autumn leaves or even tree trunks? It sounds like an intriguing effect to try, no matter what the color. It worked great with the blueish tone!
