In a moment NOBODY saw coming (/sarcasm), after our Manpower ofc relocated across the museum, >10 mins into my shift w/o assignment a directive to report there caused confusion, esp once it was confirmed they meant the OLD ofc, where ppl already were. My vicious cackle surely carried to the new ofc.

The disconnect Goose Stepalow is having is that he's only familiar with a post-vaccination, pediatric-specialty world in which kids get sick and more often than not recover. Before that, they got sick and usually DIED, quickly if they were lucky. Mortality is a helluva "cure," I'll give him that.

Randomly this morning I wondered whatever had become of Melina Kanakaredes. I'd watched the 1st season of PROVIDENCE as my days in WI were waning, and I knew she'd been on CSI: NY, but she left that in 2010. Per IMDB she's kept busy since then, if rarely first billed: Hollywood has dropped the ball.

Wednesday 2xOT was less rigorous than its predecessor, but nevertheless I limped to Steinway Thrift for #thriftfu #litotimancy. For a total tithe of $124.55 I got all this, including components for 2 different Halloween costumes, 1 pulling ahead of the previous lead contender. (I have 1 more, too.)

I wanted to buy tix for @biffyclyrofficial.bsky.social at Bowery Ballroom in December. Tix went on sale @ 10 am; I was on-queue on Ticketmaster by 10:10 w/supposedly 26 ppl ahead of me.

By the time I got to the "box office" 5 mins later it was sold out.

I need to save $$ anyway. #fuckticketmaster

I am not a parent nor have I followed the link, but the ads in the subway showing PTA mtgs & the vague motto, "When you know better you can parent better" smack of sinister transphobic, anti-DEI, pro-censorship, public school-defunding agenda, or else why not come right out & state your objectives?

Wed as I thrifted, the Ukrainian clerk's same EDM song streaming on repeat was interrupted by an ad, ostensibly FOR Cuomo, but really AGAINST Mamdani, calling him an influencer & inexperienced.

They are SO MAD that this isn't a slam dunk despite their $$: in fact their $$ is their Achilles heel.

While performing #thriftfu #litotimancy after a painful day of 2xOT I put back everything in one shop...

...only to plunk down $35 in their sister shop 2 blocks away. Not the $120 jade face brooch, tho. Nor the turquoise mole necklace at Housing Works, but they still dinged me for $59 otherwise.

I'm offended on so many levels.

I thought for sure I'd punk out, but no, I really managed to get myself outta bed at 5 am on an ostensible day off to instead go into work >1 hr early for a 2xOT shift. Things are generally becoming more expensive & seem unlikely to be less so anytime soon: gotta make extra whenever & however I can.
