Conservatives are so far out of touch. I see more women in their 60s and 70s with blue and purple and green hair than college age women. They're not on "campuses," they're at Walmart and Meijer. Women in their 50s or 60s with nose rings. It's mainstream.

It’s not that we are trying to scam the managers so we have time to be slackers. It’s just that the time & attention required to update Jira to the degree they want, pointlessly ticking boxes, would leave no time for actual work. So we tick the boxes as minimally as required, & get on with our work.

Jira tickets are a virtual Potemkin village showing the work that we are theoretically doing, for consumption by managers. They can play there as if they’re in the most boring version of Animal Crossing and they won’t hurt themselves. Meanwhile, we do whatever work needs to be done.
