Just filled my mug with hot cocoa from the machine at work. Forgot about the ginger turmeric herbal tea bag I put in the mug an hour ago. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Let it cook.

I learned this trick of bringing sandwich ingredients to work & assembling them at lunch time, to prevent pickles, tomatoes or condiments from making bread soggy. Now I need to stop assembling it during teams meetings & not being able to eat it until an hour later when the damn bread is soggy.

This isn't mine, and I can't definitively find the original source. But I love this little bit of wisdom:

"If you're a fifteen-minute walk from a coffee shop, but the server there has to drive an hour to get to work, you don't live in a walkable city. You live in a theme park."
For all the fearmongering about capital flight from New York City, there’s an exodus few want to talk about: working people.

Sky-high rents and outrageous child care costs are already pushing families out of the city they keep running.

That’s what we have to change.

Springsteen finally found a way to make reactionaries stop using his songs like Born in the USA at their campaign rallies.
I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.

Holy shit, there's an open carry #2A protest of ICE happening in Douglas County Colorado -- a very wealthy and very red suburb county of Denver. (I lived there for 16 years.) The Trump Administration pissing off committed gun owners sufficiently for them to join the protests against ICE is wild.

Trump once triggered a federal inquiry because an escalator embarrassed him at the UN. Ilhan Omar was assaulted and immediately kept doing her job. Draw your own conclusions about who belongs representing the people.

Annie Wilkes from Misery is spiritually Millennial:
▪️cottagecore
▪️extremely toxic fandom
▪️aggressive side part
▪️weird childish curses
▪️puritanical, but also
▪️horrifyingly perverted

RIP Annie you would have been so good at BookTok

Melinda was singing the melody of some exciting song from Requiem for a Dream soundtrack. I said right, Philip Glass, right? No, she said it was some group. I said some quartet. She said no, it was The Kingston Trio!
I almost laughed a blood vessel apart.

someone in a nail polish subreddit created a shade that matches the one in this photo and is selling it on etsy so she can afford to buy her boyfriend a bulletproof vest to wear while doing ICE watch at home depot. we live in hell but we are going to fucking win.
the nail polish girlies are going absolutely feral and it’s so good

The community college that both my parents attended has been infested by ICE. Hitting close to home personally. I skimmed a book about manga at the WCC library while my mom was taking classes, and now secret police are carrying out pogroms there.

Ann Arbor/Ypsi: Nextdoor just lit up with ICE activity at WCC not a half hour ago. Neighbors are rightly incensed; someone's daughter was there when it happened.

If you're in SE Michigan and mobilized, please @ me so that I may amplify your posts. How can we best help? Mutual aid? Virtual options?

While he was confronting federal agents, something happened and this man broke his rib. Maybe he fell over a log or a snoozing cat.

"Feds broke Alex Pretti's rib the week before they murdered him, sources say."
Would that headline get marked down by a journalism teacher or prof?

Sometimes I fantasize about doing my podcast live in front of an audience. It would consist of reading aloud all the lines of one character, swearing until I get a useable take, waiting for a loud car to pass, reading other characters separately, silently editing tracks & fx together. Thrilling!

We had library class in elementary school and the library teacher would tell the misbehaving kids they'd be banned from gym class if they didn't stop misbehaving. I don't know if she had the authority, but regardless I wanted to get banned so bad and couldn't because I was too quiet and shy😂

Melinda said she stopped listening to the latest episode of my podcast bc it worried her too much, that it might get me arrested. I told her not to worry, it's ok if she doesn't listen, set her mind at ease. She listened to the rest. I heard her laugh 3 more times at it.
