If you see this, quote with a robot that isn't from "Star Wars", "Star Trek", "Doctor Who", or "Transformers".
Railfanning in Stevens Pass, I've gone from shorts-and-sandals weather in Seattle to long pants-and-a-medium-jacket weather by the time we got above Baring. And there was snowpack on the back roads at Stevens Summit.

In July.
Friends place I used to play D&D at aeons ago, his cat would crawl into my jacket, stick it's head out the cuff, and sleep for days. Learned I couldn't forget to make sure the jacket was properly hung up... I mean, have you ever tried to remove a cat who didn't want to be removed?
Ouch! Sorry to hear that Scott. We missed the worst of it over here, only a few blinks and one half-a-second full outage.
Still hoping someone will write about what the boomer force (small though it was) was up to during the Crisis. I keep meaning to dig into the SSPO chronology and work out how many boats might have been available.
You're a busy guy recently....
Many, many years ago when we were young and drank far too much for our own good we named our con parties after Star Trek and booze.

The only two I remember after all this time are:

Star Trek: The Wrath of Cognac
Star Trek: The Search for Stroh's

Dave, Charlie, Micheal... I miss y'all so much.
Mint is worse than blackberries... And almost as bad as kudzu. Let it escape containment, and you'll be dealing with it basically forever.
*chuckle in The Sims*

Seriously, $100 is nothing for a dedicated simmer... You'd pay more than that just for the three big expansions published this *year*. And to date, there's been 18 expansion packs. (And that's not mentioning game packs and the various kits.)
Wonder what she was doing in Bremerton... Shouldn't be anyone left in overhaul as Louisiana was the last.
Can confirm.

All the "the two best words in sports - Game 7" posts are fucking liars, no one in Toronto or Seattle is sleeping tonight and they will spend all tomorrow in a low grade panic attack

"I saw Elvis making a MegaMail transfer!"

Sadly, I lost my file of MegaMail* signature lines years and years ago. This is the only one of hundreds that I actually remember. I wonder how many would still be funny/culturally relevant today?

In trawling through deep archives - to find my personal statement and CV from 16 years ago when I applied to PhD programs - I found a file of old one-liners from various long-defunct blogs.

And I've been laughing hard enough at my desk to squeak.
My Saturday, baking bread and tending a huge pot of soup.
If you see this, QTP with a sword.
Smaller articles are fine too!
Yeah, I hate book like that... If there's enough errors in stuff I *do* know, then how can I trust the stuff I don't?
Ace Frehley 1951-2025

Damm.
I don't think any of the SLBMs used it, but many early orbital boosters used a pattern of vertical stripes. That way you could determine roll orientation as well as rate.
Though I was referring to the placement of "ROYAL NAVY"... Yes, the black-and-white pattern was applied to test birds to measure roll rate. (You see it on a lot of older orbital boosters too.)

USN war shots were pure white, so presumably that was true for the RN as well.
Structure, discipline, and *feedback*.
Because whoever designed the bird's paint scheme was an idiot?
Not me... But then we moved around a lot, so there's no 'one' number.
