Question Time engages in Billionaire backed consent, Reform are popular because we put them on ever single week, and on the BBC every single day.

The Left Wing are minor and unpopular because they are almost never on Question Time and the BBC almost never mentions them.

Private Eye offers up an excellently scornful commentary on the relentless polling. It’s become ridiculous and has oversimplified our politics to dangerous levels of stupid and irresponsible.
SHOCK POLL:
NIGEL FARAGE WILL BE PM TOMORROW
IN an amazing poll conducted
by The Pointless Polling Company, it was revealed that voters' intentions
may well change over the next three and a half years and at present it's 100 percent impossible to guess what the next government might look like.
However, 99 percent of journalists
agree that it would be much more fun if we had an election tomorrow and everybody resigned and everything was chaos and Farage had a go at being PM, just for the hell of it, because it was so much fun when
Brexit happened and then the government kept falling every five minutes and we could write endless pieces about (cont. p94)

The BBC's justification for platforming Farage beyond the actual significance of his small parliamentary party are his polls. A rather cynical explanation, for he wouldn't be where he is without the constant, uncritical appearances he's given on the BBC. It's a (literally) vicious circle.

I'd gladly have Harold Wilson back as PM. At least he knew what the Labour party was about.

There are some people whom the media has decided are "leading intellectuals", regardless of the views of their academic colleagues. Invariably they are people who justify - or at the very least do not challenge - economic power. Steven Pinker is a stand-out example.

Contrary to Reason
Steven Pinker claims to champion Enlightenment values. But his latest book is an affront to them

Better pay for ordinary workers is good for the economy because that money gets spent.
High pay and tax breaks for the wealthiest are bad for the economy because that money gets squirrelled away in offshore tax havens

Anti-terror legislation in the UK has a very broad scope (surprisingly broad, some might say), but a decision to proscribe a particular organisation is a political choice.

It looks like this Labour government have got the politics wrong again.

Amongst everything else that can ,(and should) be said against this - it's clearly, surely not sustainable or workable from an enforcement perspective.

It's madness to arrest people for objecting to a proscription.

She was arrested for holding a sign reading:

“I do not support the proscription of Palestine Action”

How that would warrant arrest is very unclear. I wonder if the police here even understand the boundaries of the bizarre law they’ve been forced to enforce.

BBC accused of 'extraordinary' anti-Green bias after party say the Laura Kuenssberg Show scrapped a promised interview with @zackpolanski.bsky.social on Sunday.

Green sources say the show also refused to interview Polanski after he was elected as leader last month
