Completely disgraceful. I was witness to some appalling behaviour and management in the past, but nothing during that time came close the levels of fraud and dishonesty that's been demonstrated over the past several years. Astounding.

One Battle After Another has such an impressive pacing and concise narrative movement. The score, camera movement and performances create an anxious forward momentum that is both stressful and enjoyable. It is funny and tragic in equal measures. Definitely one of the best films of the year.

This story is utterly balmy.

The Aust Parliament Sports Club (the one that ditched David Pocock) is now formally registered as a lobby group👇🏽

Anthony Albanese is the President of the Aust Parliament Sports Club.

That means the Prime Minister of Australia is currently the president of a lobby group.

Just utterly unbelievable.

I saw this comment on reddit and it sums it up pretty damn well:
The image is of a comment on a reddit thread concerning Bill Burr's decision to cancel a live recording of his podcast. The comment reads: "Let me just say...going to do comedy in Saudi Arabia is kind of fine. I can see the argument to be made for having an exchange of ideas and culture.

The problem is that he was paid to put on a show for the royal dictator whose recent forays with American culture involved his men using a bonesaw and cutting apart a journalist who criticized his regime, and carrying his body out in multiple bags to be disposed of.

This would be like taking an invitation from Putin to go perform comedy at the Kremlin. You aren't exchanging culture. You are being a stooge for a brutal dictator."

New:
Censorship by any other name.
The National Press Club cancelled a speaker, Chris Hedges, who planned to address the mass killing of journalists in Gaza. The mainstream press didn’t report it.

Absolutely wild. Half a million is some community sector organisations' annual operating budget, and we're dropping that to get a private contractor to return error riddled LLM print outs. The ways in which these technologies will be used to scam the public will be innumerable.

Look, I've been on the fence about Mozart for a while now. But after a few listens, I reckon he might be decent at playing the piano.

All they care about is being elected and staying in power.

#Breaking | ANU College of Arts & Social Sciences will not face structural changes at this time. No renaming, merging, or disestablishment of areas. Change management appears to have been halted, even walked back completely. It’s unclear the impacts of this announcement on the school of music.

Prime Minister Albanese and Minister Wong should hang their heads in shame that they left the safety and fate of heroic Australian humanitarians in the hands of violent war criminals.

I appreciate the opportunity I have with my work to put my writing skillset to good use. But, it absolutely drains my tank for other writing tasks. I find it so hard to carve out writing time for non-work related purposes at present. 😵‍💫
