Hi network. I am unemployed again. Can I do something about that here? anything to avoid linkedin would be appreciated! I have a phd in physics, I also did AI research recently. Ma latest personal project was a c physics engine as a single header. Help me pay bills thankyou

I I / I / I I / I — Project Signal demo
This is a narrative experience and the first thing I've ever made for SEGA MegaDrive/Genesis. I didn't know if what I wanted to do was technically possible or within my means.

A procedural 4D worm-like creature, passing through our slice of space. It's for the sci-fi flight sim project. #gamedev #raymarch #shader

Restoring old family photos with AI isn’t a one-click trick. It’s a creative process shaped by memory, authorship, and a lot of trial and error.
Here’s how I’m using AI (ethically) to bring the past back to life:

You got my attention with Smiley. Wouldn't that be an amazing game though? The closest we got to information/detective kind of gameplay are games like Obra Dinn and outer wilds, I think.

There's something really funny about guns in this context.

I have no idea what I'm looking at but I'm captivated.

"Plant a tree, have a son, write a book" should be updated for solo game devs. "Try to make game". That's it, that's the whole list. Good fucking luck!

Ah! I uploaded it as image. that's why it wasn't playing.

Is my gif not playing just here?

There is an annoying lack of 3d physics libraries in plain C. So I decided to make one myself in my spare time. I'll be releasing this as a single header as soon as I iron out some details. It only does spheres and boxes. #gamedev

I have been saying this to my wife, who is a teacher. Every student will use AI for their home assignments. Don't try to fight it, embrace it. You can make the assignment harder, you can ask for a transcript too. Something along those lines.

Added a few different types of mines. The jumping ones are definitely the most fun.

It's a very "dad game"! You control in first person a pilot who pilots a ship. You can move inside and outside the ship, arrange cargo, fly in an alien planet, avoid monsters in the fog, that sort of thing. And it's a flight simulator. Controls, aerodynamics and such.

I recently resumed working on my sci-fi flight simulator. This time I'm using #raylib to get a hybrid of ray marched SDF and polygonal rendering. #gamedev #flightsim

If I made a few posts discussing dithering, related techniques including color use & balance and how I utilize them, would there be any interest in that? I could compile and make a larger, more in-depth discussion and guide in addition, as well. Pictured: 3 examples I have an amount of fondness for

There would be a lot of interest in that!

I think at the time it came out it was seen as 'just another FPS', with not enough gimmick to stand out. It's nice to revisit this kind of games later, when the saturation doesn't bother us that much.
Hell, even Half Life itself felt like just another FPS to me at the time!

The criticism misses the point. It's showcasing fast image generation in an interactive environment. In terms of usefulness, it will depend on how it develops and on the imagination of developers. As is, it might be used as a post-processing effect that replaces shaders and lighting algorithms.
