OK, I've played Deep Space Exploitation, having finished it a second time, and once more, I am finding myself deeply engaged in the gameplay, but also the subtle, deeper stories.

I’ve never really found a way I like to take notes digitally. I think I just like how tactile it is to scribble in a notebook, doodle, cross things out. So I fill notebooks full of notes for delve, work, things i want to remember. It’s not journaling but I do sometimes scribble down random thoughts

It's a good game and I'd recommend checking it out, and it has a demo so it's well worth trying. I'm glad my recommendation helped, and I'm glad I made time for it, because I've been so up to my eyeballs busy lately that I nearly declined the copy sent my way, but ended up getting really sucked in.

@caseyexplosion.bsky.social's recommendation has had a serious impact on the visibility of DSE. I feel like I've struggled to get coverage for what is (going by feedback) a really good game, so it really shows how important a little bit of attention for small devs is.
So, at home after work and I finally got my hands on the full game of Space Exploitation by @juhrjuhr.itch.io . It's currently on Steam for 11.99 and the demo was recommended by @caseyexplosion.bsky.social

I've added a high contrast UI mode after a couple of people requested it :)
This was actually super easy to implement; the game's graphics are so simple that a little recolouring shader sufficed.

Bsky always does weird things to videos shot on my phone, but this thing actually runs 30fps and looks nice on my Anbernic RG 35XX plus, just had to disable the shadows. There's likely things I can still optimize, but I'm already very happy with how this runs on this cheap Linux handheld :--)
