TLOAS is Taylor Swift's dryest, most deadpan album yet. Dry / deadpan humor are strongly associated with British humor, so perhaps this is why CANCELLED! uses the British spelling

Weezer’s second album, the “lost album” that was never made, was intended to be a sci-fi rock opera. Instead, Pinkerton was born, an album that was initially poorly received and full of controversial lyrics. Deep dive into the Madame Butterfly of it all. It reminds me of what’s going on with TLOAS.

Taylor Swift is a conduit for people’s worst behaviors and fears and that’s what I think this album is meant to highlight. And everyone who has a platform whether they’ve spoken about her before or not, is taking the bait and proving her entire point for her.
