a tangential note I find it fascinating that Beyonce released her self titled album on Taylor’s birthday. I don’t think it was intentional at the time, I just think it’s really interesting retrospectively (7/11 was a bonus/deluxe track that’s why I thought of this lol)
On 7/11/23 Taylor attended Quest Love’s uno party, this year on 7/11 Maren and Jack released this song for the Ally Coalition. Today seems like the best day to bring these lyrics up

this perfectly explains why the entire wicked/Oz story is about human choice in the face of corruption. it ties into exactly why I believe the YBR itself IS a metaphor for the game of life - trials & tribulations it takes for one to reach the “big shiny thing” that actually ends up being a sham too
