240/365–‘Arachnophobia’ #HouseOfSvengoolie This and ‘Them!’ back-to-back raised the question of which was worse, a few thousand giant bugs or millions of little deadly ones? Great cast, with Goodman’s good ol’ boy exterminator making this flick charmingly effective

I like to say, having read the book a couple summers back, that Tony’s Norman is a vastly different animal than the frumpy middle-aged zero-rizz one from Bloch’s pages, and that is the genius in Hitchcock’s casting. The role haunted him for the rest of his extraordinary life, but he was just sooo…
