Thank goodness Mike and the bots had plenty of Ecstato-Euphuro-Fun (with patented Hinder-90) to get through that one.

Also one of the best stingers

Yep. Young boy gets his license, the family farm is visited by a cop (who then explains how trains are blameless, holy creatures), then his older brother is killed at a railroad crossing while doing something incredibly stupid. Busy day!

Tonight on #MST3K Forever-a-Thon, we're really early into RADAR SECRET SERVICE, one of my favorite experiments.

With Hypno-Helio-Static-Stasis. Containing X-4! An extremely rare, extremely scientific, form of subliminal poopie.

But, a little trainwreck of a short called "Last Clear Chance"

Take some time to watch a favorite show and whatnot.

Mr George Wallace has this advice for you and he's one of the best to ever do it!

Remember self-care. Sprinkle some joy in with the doom scrollin' and whatnot. I love you and there's absolutely nothin' you can do about it.

Alex is right. Our credit scores went down the instant we paid off our car.

Me: "WE ARE BEING RESPONSIBLE WHY ARE YOU PUNISHING US?!?"

Experian, et al.: "You should be responsible, just don't be TOO responsible. We don't like that."

Are credit scores a scam?

("Why that pairing?"you might ask. The professor wanted to focus on Wilde, but the department only allowed single-author courses on big names like Shakespeare and Milton. Two authors was allowed and he'd read an article linking them, so he named Allen on a lark. So popular he taught two sections.)
dougmakingstuff.com
One of my favorite classes in college was a dual author course on Oscar Wilde and Woody Allen. (Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest is still one of my favorite plays ever.)

One of the standout films in that class was Love and Death from 1975, where Diane Keaton is GREAT. I miss her already.

If somebody asks me what it's like to battle life-long depression, I will show them this video and then ask them to stretch it out for years. And you don't even get to eat the shrimp. #WorldMentalHealthDay

Portland protest takes many forms.

I think it's great people love the inflatable animal costumes, but they're sleeping on the folks who've been protesting in bathrobes while eating donuts, drinking coffee, and doing the crossword.

This thread is absolutely amazing and I could really use a bagel right now. Thank you for this gift, @erinbiba.bsky.social

Tell me your bagel order and I will tell you *based on NYC cultural expectations* if you have won or lost your election for political office in NYC.
erinbiba.bsky.social
One of my favorite things about NYC is whenever anyone runs for office here they are required to disclose their bagel order.

OMG who was it I will fight them. That is exceedingly uncool.

Dammit MeFi, I thought we were friends and this is not friend behavior.

i made a chart outlining the current state of the tech industry. we haven't build anything innovative in the middle in a very long time.
a ven diagram with 3 circles labeled:
- Things we can build
- Things that are good for people
- Things that make money.

In the center it says "nothing here since 2010!"
good for people with makes money says "where chatgpt says they are"
can build with make money says "where chat gpt really is"
can build with good for people says "charity? i guess?
