I really liked period of Diebenkorn's work when he broke from abstraction (for at least a few years). But yes, that Bonnard is absolutely radiant.

Lovely LitQuake crowd last night at the 4 Star Theatre in San Francisco. David Owen interviewed me about my new book John Candy: A Life In Comedy, then we watched Uncle Buck. I signed a ton of books and met a lot of really great people all of whom had a feeling of connection to John Candy.

I think that what we can infer is that insider trading is rampant, there is an expectation that if you are onside with the administration you will not be prosecuted for it, and there is a belief this admin will not be leaving, so YOLO.

Candy certainly had his struggles, as the membrane between who he was internally, and what what was surrounding him externally increasingly began to fray. But strength can come from goodness, and I believe he would have triumphed. Just such a sad loss.
