Around 20% of my work year is on an event called the Spine Race. It's brought me into the most wonderful community of endurance runners. I lead their checkpoint department & place c.150 people from Derbyshire to Scotland each January, to look after 500+ athletes

Anyone know the race?

A false widow spider by the curb outside our house. It has spent 6 months living on our toilet blinds until I finally decided it wasn’t the right choice of housemate 😂

My point here is just that warming comes from calories, not from warm, drinks :) What the calories are, in this context is less important

Definitely the warming option. But it would be very hard not to chose tea over cold calories if you’re feeling cold. Evolution has done us dirty on this one!

So, given that the calories in the flapjack would warm you more than the tea would, what you actually need is a high calorie, warm, liquid option that has both simple and complex carbs! :)

Totally relate re the tea.
I managed to pick a non-inclusive option with the flapjack there, sorry! The tea feels so much more comforting. But high calorie food is definitely the more warming of the two

Well this felt pretty good

This year, for the first time since my teens, I felt utterly disillusioned with politics across the spectrum (with the exception of LDs)
