Around 20% of my work year is on an event called the Spine Race. It's brought me into the most wonderful community of endurance runners. I lead their checkpoint department & place c.150 people from Derbyshire to Scotland each January, to look after 500+ athletes

Anyone know the race?

Sarah Pochin wrote to Bangor's university student run debating society requesting that she attend to "answer questions from students."

When they said "no" Reform rolled all it's tanks onto the lawns and said they'll cut funding to the entire university if they win.
Reform UK threatens to cut funding for Welsh university after debating society bans party from campus want to go to Bangor University' said nobody ever. Especially if Bangor University is stripped of government funding and student loan facilities by @reformparty_uk Is that "in line with your values,' poppets?

The hound after our walk this afternoon. I gave him a warm bath and still he’s staring at me with a betrayed look!
My 13 year old lab standing in an outdoor warm bath after our walk. He isn’t impressed despite the effort to use lovely warm water. He is now snuggled up by a warm fire with his dressing gown on. He knows how to get the sympathy vote!

Enough for today now. Almost at the point where I can consider the winter Spine signed off. Feedback collated and sent out. Post-race report written. Just a few kit jobs to do and a management meeting to attend!

But for now, it’s time to relax

Auschwitz was at the end of a process. We must remember that it did not start from gas chambers.

This hatred gradually developed: from ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder.

Auschwitz took time.

NHS shifts done for the week but 11 meetings, a written report & portfolio prep lie between me and a day off

Best brew of the race was had in that hut, along with a bit of tablet as a reward for the climb up the hill!

The department I lead on this race is 170+ people strong. I place teams at 10 locations along the 268 mile Pennine Way to care for athletes as they tackle their brutal challenges.

I am so proud of the work that they do

CP run by Paul Lee & Lynsey Hall. The Edale crew. They register the Challenger South (108 miles), Spine Sprint South (43 miles) and the full Spine Race 268 miles. A lot of crew from other teams congregate in Edale before moving up the trail and we all enjoy a huge crew meal together on the Friday night of race week before the runners set off and I begin to head up the trail. For those of you who know them, Alan Cormack, Lyndsay McEwan & Graeme Lornie are our regular chefs! Immediately prior to the races starting, the central race team hold a meeting in Edale to discuss expected events and to outline what is likely to lie ahead. This first weekend is extremely busy, but is still the calm before the storm!
