I'm sure you're right. I was born in 1971, so I can identify three fully distinct phases of the 80's. Two from the 90's, as I started paying less attention.
The past 25 years are a blur to my old man eyes.

I used to be able to discern when a film was made by haircuts and fashion. I feel like there are less aesthetic time stamps now.

But as soon as I see a flip phone, I know when a movie was made.

Something I recently learned about vinyl albums:
"In Your Eyes" opens side 2 of the album because the bass sounds richer along the outer edges of an album.
On the CD "In Your Eyes" is last because that's where Gabriel always thought it should go. But it just didn't sound as good there on vinyl.
