(The reason itsays CHRIST MAN is it's part of a triptych of Christ Babe, Christ Boy, and Christ Man.)
🙄 Oh Adobe. Even my ADHD brain doesn't think 15 pages is that long.

It's an academic article, not a business memo.
Jesus looks like he’s annoyed with a mosquito.
I want to know this too - or at least how long it takes to hit YouTube?
Today's Wordle is one of my all-time favorite words.
And I first encountered it in a Sylvia Plath poem, oddly enough. It's her birthday today. (And also her favorite poet, Dylan Thomas'. My mom insists I was not born a week early...)

This is how we remind corporations who actually holds the power in this abusive relationship.
They bent to Trump this year because they thought obedience was good for business.
Time to remind them who signs the checks.

On Friday, I was invited to give the homily at today's Evensong for the Feast of St. Luke (observed).

Here it is (the text, posted on my blog): eebelz.com/2025/10/19/b...
That’s such a good idea!
I’d only truly appreciate it properly if it were in my vicinity & I had a spoon!

I know Donald Trump is a pathological liar, malignant narcissistic sociopath, racist, antisemite, misogynist, xenophobe, homophobe, transphobe, hater of our troops and believer in euthanizing folks with disabilities, but we too often forget that he's *also* an adjudicated rapist and convicted felon.
What a great project here in Detroit & Hamtramck! If you can, toss some change his way. The link has a couple of payment options that includes CashApp.
If you'd like to support this effort you can visit buymeacoffee.com/cyclesixmile

You can let me know how you'd like the money to be used, either to buy bike locks or bike lights for students, or to buy food, warming supplies, hygiene supplies, or bus passes for people who I see on my rides.

We need work requirements for Congress.
Usual Monday morning barrage of, well, everything...but it's still not even noon, and someone called me a "godsend." I'll take it.

I mean, I'd make the case for Detroit, but of course I would. Chicago's an amazing city.
I see in your bio you were a theological librarian? Where, if you don't mind my asking? (DM is fine if you prefer.)
That sounds delightful! Do you use vegetable scraps, or buy the veggies to make this base?
Saw an Indiana license plate this morning. It had the slogan, "The Crossroads of America."

Yes, there are lots of ways to drive through Indiana. Their slogan is better than another way it could have been worded: "Indiana—You'll Get Through It Somehow."

(Srsly tho, no shade to my neighbor state!)
That photo is just about perfect, and a delight to see. Nice feed cleanser.
I keep seeing things about this Free Press acquisition, and have to remind myself it's not the Detroit Free Press! (We drop the "Detroit" around here, of course.)
This is important. The use of the word "constructs" here is important. Social constructs and media reporting, as we keep seeing, distort people's perception of the world and their thinking.
Being targeted for police violence constructs people as criminals. Cops beat someone and the news refers to the victim as a suspect.

No one is covering the GOP's scheme to rig congressional maps for 2026 as closely as Democracy Docket. It is providing gavel to gavel coverage of the ongoing hearing over whether the Texas gerrymander will be in place for the midterms.
