If you'd like to support this effort you can visit buymeacoffee.com/cyclesixmile

You can let me know how you'd like the money to be used, either to buy bike locks or bike lights for students, or to buy food, warming supplies, hygiene supplies, or bus passes for people who I see on my rides.

As long as people equate *seeing the effects of poverty* with "experiencing violence or threats* it will be very hard to change this. A coworker is moving to the area from the west side of Michigan. They want to live in the city, but drove down 6 Mile and saw poor people and thought it was dangerous

@timmiller.bsky.social just got a call from the Detroit Public schools that there are reports of ICE offering minors in detention money to return to their home country. This is a disgusting violation of due process and devastating that schools have to educate. Thought you might want to look into it!

A lot of people seem to talk a lot about Detroit and care about this city a lot but... not enough to live here. There are plenty of houses for sale if they want to put their money where their mouth is. Nice houses in nice neighborhoods even.

They cleaned up a portion of it I believe, still quite a bit left.

Given the respective metro populations I think this means Detroit ought by right to have five to six different types of light rail trains. Can we get on this, please
astruckpersonn.bsky.social
sacramento is making me a. light rail foamer. because every other city i’ve lived in had one. maybe two. models of light rail rolling stock

sacramento has three. currently in service. including some based on the frankfurt u-bahn

Was going to suggest Charlie the Pencilman's but I see you already did it.
cyclesixmile.bsky.social
Yeah but I guess that's all they think they need to protect the future use. I'm definitely not an expert.

Yes, this would include huge subsidies to clean up the site, remove 18 inches of polluted material, put down a barrier, and then refill with 18 inches of clean dirt.

They have the pizza, deli bar and panini bar, and salad bar every day. I think there are kids who just get the same thing every day and ignore the rotating options.

Yes I enjoy biking with brakes and gears.
cyclesixmile.bsky.social
That is true, it depends on the day and the item. I have eaten some of ours and it's not bad.
cyclesixmile.bsky.social
There are definitely days that I don't ride (too icy/snowy mostly) but I enjoy riding in the cold or with light snow.
