ELRIC AT THE FORGE OF FOREVER (2019)

When I tossed out the old container of paints used to do the cover painting for WORDS OF RADIANCE, it landed upside down in my wastebasket on a piece of paperboard I had been using as a palette for something else. 1/2

Elric stands on an outcrop of rock with skulls at his feet. He wears a black hooded cloak trimmed in gold and jeweled bracers. He cradles Stormbringer as the length of the runesword, glowing purple, extends well above his head. Below him water spills frothy onto the shore but as it stretches back, placid and glassy, it gives way to erupting vents of lava.

Now that I've recovered from my cold and isn't sneezing my brains out, I finally managed to finish up my piece from @paulscottcanavan.com 's mentorship :D

Knew I wanted to paint a horse, so decided to draw some inspiration from the wild hunt folklore and ended up with bonus doggies.

A male rider dressed in leather armour rides across the sky. He's carrying a spear, and a half cape is flying out behind him. His horse have blue glows across its body, and they're flanked by two demonic canines with red glows across their body. Behind them is a eclipse and clouds.

Another rad project from this fall, I was asked to reimagine the cover of "Divergent" for a deluxe, special edition printing from HarperCollins. The cover will be foiled & embossed, w/ a beautiful silver foil type treatment on the paper edges. ADs Amy & Joel were truly a delight to work with!

Inside of me there are two (art) wolves, one is always muttering "simplify, simplify, simplify", while the other is screaming at the top of his lungs "add more STARS!!"
