On March 25, my new book comes out. It's called "Bad Law: 10 Popular Laws That Are Ruining America"

This is my Bill of Wrongs.

Instead of saying "orange man bad," I drilled down on 10 laws most people like that are actually destroying us.

This is the 3rd time in five years I’ve tried to get a rental car out of the Atlanta airport, and the 3rd time I’ve seriously considered just getting back on the plane and going home.

In my newsletter this week, I call bulls*** on Ubisoft’s decision to cancel a game because killing Klansmen is now frowned upon in this establishment.
Uhh, also the plot to bomb the Supreme Court and the vindictive stupidity of the James indictment.

But mainly freaking Ubisoft
The Plot That Could Have Deranged America
In his weekly newsletter, Elie Mystal explores everything from the foiled plot against Supreme Court justices to the ongoing plot to foil mail-in voting.

This man literally had a better case than the one filed against Tish James. And this man... did NOT have a good case.

Will he finally accept that it’s OVO-ver? A federal judge has dismissed Drake’s defamation and harassment lawsuit against Universal Music Group over Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us.” Drake could potentially appeal the ruling.

David Simon, creator of ‘The Wire’, being interviewed by Ari Shapiro (NPR)
SHAPIRO: OK, so you've spent your career creating television without Al, and I could imagine today you thinking, boy, I wish I had had that tool to solve those thorny problems...
SIMON: What?
SHAPIRO: ...Or saying...
SIMON: You imagine that?
SHAPIRO: ...Boy, if that had existed, it would have screwed me over.
SIMON: I don't think Al can remotely challenge what writers do at a fundamentally creative level.
SHAPIRO: But if you're trying to transition from scene five to scene six, and you're stuck with that transition, you could imagine plugging that portion of the script into an Al and say, give me 10 ideas for how to transition this.
SIMON: I'd rather put a gun in my mouth.

Be nice if any single national Democrat promised to hold these fuckwads accountable for malicious prosecution should the wheel ever turn around.

But, whatever. Everybody who opposes Trump will just have to weather this bullshit.
elienyc.bsky.social
Oh look, more bullshit from the Trump DOJ.

Someday, these people need to be held accountable for malicious prosecution. But it won't be this day.

Well, what do you mean about "not follwoing their rulings"? Like, take abortion. We could not follow their rulings, but a doctor in a red state (and/or their patient) would go to jail.

Are we going to break them out of jail? That's what it would take to "not follow their rulings" unfortunately.

Anyone who is able to mix Cheech and Chong and tanning testicles with cogent critiques of the high court is a no brainer.

Turns out, the MAGA Supreme Court is the one interested in converting your kids through the use of quack doctors with medically unsound practices based on no scientific evidence. "Every accusation is a confession" with them.

This is why I think the next Democratic president needs to use the EXACT tools that SCOTUS has handed Trump. Don't leave room for any distinctions.

Impound funds for deportation. Give ICE the USAID treatment. Refuse to collect government-backed debt. Purge MAGA loyalists from the executive branch.

Ubisoft: "Okay, so in this game you fight the Klan"
Marketers: "You can't sell that in America"
Ubisoft: "Why?"
Marketers: "Umm [gestures broadly]. The Klan fucking won?"
Ubisoft: "Merde."
Marketers: "Yeah, we've asked for the Statue back but they're being dicks about that too."

“A new left-wing political approach must emerge from the Supreme Court’s destruction of laws and rights—an approach that doesn’t rely on the courts to enforce social progress, but relies on the people to force social progress on the courts.”

As always, he’s correct.
