90% of the original footage created for like the earlier seasons of PR was to give the sixth ranger more screen time. THEY INVENTED A SIXTH FOR A SEASON THAT DIDN'T HAVE ONE. So Sentai around this time looked at that and went "oh that's a fantastic idea. Why haven't we been doing it!?!?"

I can pretty much every season before this the sixth ranger was still treated as like this special treat type character. but I guess whether due to power Rangers doing it or the staff just wanting to make it happen. They started to become A PART of the Sentai You know?

These seasons Are the ones that really properly normalized 6th rangers Just as a concept. Gaoranger Was definitely the season that decided to make it a tradition. But starting with dekaranger That was around the time they made it a part of its identity.

Like I feel like it would be more conclusive if they had had it so after experiencing what it is like to be broken lizel decides in her final moments to finally fix something. And you couldn't even have a moment where it's both lizel and shiita talking to jeeph To tell him to live on.

Okay but thinking about it it almost feels like the only reason jeeph was the ones who made the sacrifice was because they needed lizel To be the crossover movie villain because from a story perspective it would make MORE sense for her to be the one to make that sacrifice.
