You can always tell you’re in the North Atlantic Archipelago when the post-surgical advice is “lift nothing heavier than a kettle for 6 weeks” because only we as a culture have to make risk calculations based on odds of harm to sutures vs odds of patient going on rampage if not able to access tea 🫖

Interesting that “landlords shouldn’t exist” is in no way the call to genocide, eugenics or violence that “trans people shouldn’t exist” is, yet even expressing the former view already has me on lists that people actively attempting to implement the latter never go near, isn’t it?

So far I’m in the “establishing a baseline” phase. I’m also really unwell and unable to do more than crawl to the bathroom.

It was surprisingly validating to see my HR go into the “Exertion zone” - readings associated with vigorous exercise in a healthy person without chronic fatigue - doing so.

There was a sale on monitors at Visible and that and the really bad week I’ve had healthwise after trying to push a bit to give my OH a nice birthday week off pushed me to spend a chunk of my PIP on it.

It’s expensive but not ridiculous. It’s what PIP is actually meant to be for.

there was a whole Pride display, with the Progress Pride flag and a whole bunch of other Pride flags up, and multiple shelves of books from all through the queer experience. Including nonbinary and ace ones, not just lesbian and gay ones. Queerness was on display and embraced ❤️🏳️‍🌈

- I had forgotten to bring my Loops or my sunglasses with me because I didn’t bring my backpack and was getting really sensorily overstimulated. I happened to see their Autism Aware sign up and asked if they happened to have earplugs or ear defenders available to visitors, and they did!

Made it out to GOMA today as my OH is off on annual leave for the week.

Health is fairly crap atm; had a pretty nasty syncope episode so we had to go to the cafe to sit down. But two things that really helped

I’ve been applying for PT remote work actively for months and got one interview. Which was also for an incredibly oversubscribed job.

There’s so few jobs I can do and all of them are swamped by more abled people desperate for work who can do so much more than I can.
