I love the candor of children. No sooner had the boys gotten back from their birthday party when there was a knock on the door - a neighbor friend, who was at the aforementioned party! 7yo flatly says "WHY ARE YOU HERE"

Yesterday at the rec league baseball field, I noticed a man wearing a Charlie Kirk shirt. The front said FREEDOM and the back said "just because you're offended doesn't make you right".

Later I noticed the same guy look at my small "No kings. No fascists. No tyrants. No nazis" bumper sticker.

Reasons my stepsons gave for not wanting to drink the smoothies I made this morning:

"I cracked my tooth on it" (it's very much liquified)

"I'm full" (had not had more than a sip through closed lips)

"I don't like that it's full of black holes" (seeds, I think?)

So Dodgers are my team, but - I really, really want to see the Brewers win tonight. I spent my elementary years in Wisconsin and my first MLB game was in the old Brewers stadium when I was 7. 🥲 The man sitting next to my family was so kind to me and let me sift through his wallet when I got bored.
