“Free speech” though! 🙄 wish their supporters would see them for what they are.

Noticed they’ve stopped replying to you all now too…

Anyone with a mic ever going to bother asking him why he was making similar arguments at the time as the guy who admitted to being a Russian asset?

Nah, my moneys on Nick Ferrari tickling his toes as per usual.

Wales is apparently the new war ravaged Portland.

Would be nice if some media outlets stopped thinking X and Facebook reflects majority public opinion.

Reach PLC’s WalesOnline has become a joke outfit, consistently serving up out of touch dross.
ethanjonesic.bsky.social
The brass neck on him, it’s almost unbelievable…
ethanjonesic.bsky.social
Oh look. Just Nigel Farage calling a Russian asset “terrific.”

You know, the guy who used to lead Reform in Wales and Reform now claims they’ve never heard of 🤷‍♂️

Welsh election: UKIP's Farage backs 'terrific' Gill
UKIP leader Nigel Farage backs the party's Welsh leader Nathan Gill as

Reform’s attempted disavowing of Gill is absolutely scandalous, the man is the only ever leader of Reform in Wales.

Prior to that he was Farage’s right hand man in Wales during the UKIP days, who Farage is on record praising highly.

For them to say they don’t know him is laughably absurd.

Zack Polanski showing exactly how you take on Reform and shine a light on exactly who they are.

Perfect take down, best performance on QT for a long time, bravo @zackpolanski.bsky.social doing a great job.

This is the way to take on Reform and thank goodness it’s now happening.

“You can’t blame austerity on one hand, but then say it’s the immigrants. The immigrants haven’t caused austerity.”

One significant - & dangerous - thing to watch for is professional commentators objecting to words rather than examining the evidence. It's pearl-clutching & cowardly, obviously, but also a deliberate attempt to avoid confronting exactly what they themselves are facilitating and often cheering on.

“You described Reform and other parties across Europe today as among the 'right wing equivalents of the fascists in the 1930s'. Why?”

“Because that’s what they are”

I sometimes worry I exaggerate the collective madness of our media but the people who cheered Brexit, Boris Johnson & Liz Truss's mini-budget are now applauding Kemi Badenoch's speech. 'Parallell universe' doesn't come close. I suppose her not falling over is a win of sorts for them at the moment.
ethanjonesic.bsky.social
🤦‍♂️ the Gary Neville thing is still rumbling on in the media and on football social media pages.

It’s like none of them actually listened to what he said, or are wilfully misrepresenting it.

The right wing’s flag campaign is clearly a territory marking statement to people not born in the UK.
ethanjonesic.bsky.social
Great to see Zack, doing a great job!
ethanjonesic.bsky.social
You can always tell when Farage is rattled.

He says really outrageous inflammatory things then plays victim when there’s kickback.

He very rarely allows himself to be interviewed by non-friendly media, so is hardly ever pushed on it.

The man is offended by everything and ashamed of nothing.

This is a lie.

There are many criticisms you might sensibly and truthfully make of the Sentencing Council and the Sentencing Guidelines. I’ve been making them for years.

But this is an outright lie. Pure fabrication. A fraud on the public.
ethanjonesic.bsky.social
The whole Gary Neville thing is absurd.

We live in a society in which someone can put a video out and then relentlessly be attacked by the right wing media & “free-speech” bros claiming they’d said things they hadn’t. And the angry online right will lap it up without checking.

This island is ill.
ethanjonesic.bsky.social
I’ve followed Welsh politics for years and covered it for Bylines too.

Reform UK’s messaging is designed for people who haven’t paid any attention to devolved politics, don’t understand how it works or, in some cases, know which party is which.

They’re relying on frustration, hate & ignorance.

A wealth tax was never about taking money from the plumbers or the hairdressers.

The billionaires that own the TV stations, the newspapers, the social media platforms and a lot of politicians wanted you to think it was though.

By Reform supporters’ logic and current soundbites, I think this means Reform are now in a coalition with Labour 🤷‍♂️

Zia Yusuf knows less about his own party than I do.

Gill is not some rando who once met Nigel.

Gill was Reform Leader in Wales and a close ally of Nigel Farage for over a decade before that across two other political parties. This is not something that can just be brushed away.
bestforbritain.org
Really, Reform UK? THIS is what you're going with? That this man, who served as an MEP next to Nigel Farage for years and was made leader of your party in Wales by current deputy, Richard Tice, is just "one of tens of thousands of people Nigel meets on an annual basis"?~AA

It truly saddens me…. I’m really worried as to where this leads.

1,100 people reacted to this headline with a laughing emoji.

This is what Farage and his fellow travellers have emboldened - the very worst in our society, who are seemingly dictating the UK’s political discourse.

How sick in the head do you have to be to laugh at a child’s horrific death?
ethanjonesic.bsky.social
Pretty clear at the Welsh Labour conference that they have no strategy to claw back lost support other than to throw their toys out of the pram.
