Israel has moved aggressively in recent days to deepen its control over the occupied West Bank, unilaterally adopting policies that analysts say represent a major shift toward annexation and appear to defy President Trump.

Despite President Donald Trump’s opposition to annexation, Israel has taken steps to expand control over the West Bank that experts say may lead to seizure of territory.

When the USA tells other countries to spend more on their militaries, we shouldn't forget that the US military spends a lot of money on things that have nothing to do with defending the US from foreign enemies.
NEW — An obscure Navy contractor program is making Trump’s plans to quickly build out and supply immigrant concentration camps around the country a reality.

Here I explain WEXMAC TITUS, an acronym you need to understand:
For ICE to build concentration camps quickly, they're leaning on this Dept. of War program

This is crazy. The government — or fear of the government — is editing a CBS comedy show. Via @brianstelter.bsky.social

"Yesterday, Stephen Colbert taped a 'Late Show' interview with James Talarico, a candidate in the Democratic Senate primary in Texas, but then CBS lawyers intervened."

Fascinating. Will the opponents of protofascism have learned enough from Caerphilly?
Labour has now come in from 10/1 to 5/1 in Gorton and Denton, with Reform at 3/1 against, and Greens odds-on.

NB: these are prices (reflecting betting patterns) not predictions

(There has been no representative polling of the constituency published during the campaign + no hard data).

People sometimes praise Farage for taking lots of questions from the press.
That seems irrelevant when he regularly responds to reasonable questions in insulting and Trump-like terms, often attacking individual journalists and their outlets. Collectively, the lobby shouldn’t stand for it.

Is this how Reform UK would ignore media questions if they got into government?

Farage absolutely clueless on the Epstein/Mandelson story here, where the FT (especially @pickardje.bsky.social) has led the way on recent revelations. His thin skin could easily become a vulnerability.

Anniversary of a confession in the clear: The networked evil that brought us Farage’s, Putin pleasing, Brexit. Here is the missing clip in which Farage confirms that Brexit would not have been possible without Bannon, Breitbart and by implication Cambridge Analyitica’s “help.”

Every so often you hear calls for ministers to be more robust (or something) in the face of legal advice.

But one can be fairly certain government lawyers warned about both proscribing Palestine Action and cancelling local council elections.

And here we are - a defeat and a reversal respectively.
