We’re in the second Gilded Age just like the first — when America’s wealth was in the hands of a few, money corrupted politics, and working people were abused and exploited.

It can be easy to feel discouraged, but the first Gilded Age teaches us lessons on how we can fight back.

He made up baseless concerns to Joni Ernst, promising to “ask the right questions” about how agencies are monitoring their employees, specifically workers who “might be benefitting from the D.C. pay rate” without living in Washington.

I'd love to know what they found!

he added.

“That doesn’t mean there’s not amazing career civil servants, many of whom I’ve worked with at OMB. I look forward to [being] confirmed, getting back to work with them, … But I do believe that there are bureaucracies that are weaponized against the American people.”

When Vought was pressed on this in his confirmation hearing, he lied and told Senator Kim that he was referring in those comments to “bureaucracies” that he believes have been “weaponized.”

“There are portions of weaponized bureaucracies across the federal government,”

In private speeches from 2023–2024, Russell Vought (a lead architect of Project 2025 and now a head of OMB) said a future administration should make career civil servants “miserable” and “put them in trauma.”

This video of Chicagoans intervening to save a man from being abducted off the streets by ICE is making the rounds on Instagram.

"In 1756 the Pennsylvania governor, declaring war against the Lenape, offered '130 Pieces of Eight for the scalp of Every Male Indian Enemy above the Age of Twelve Years' and '50 Pieces of Eight for the Scalp of every Indian Woman." (2/4)

Re California, "This campaign of genocide was carried out not by the military or police, but by a willing, participating public."

Whether ICE are seen as legit state agents or groups of unlawful "thugs," the settler state builds upon centuries of violent precedent, and they know it. Why don't you?

"Following California statehood..the state's first governor inaugurated an extermination policy that..paid between 25 cents and 5 dollars per scalp. At least 4,500 Indigenous people were murdered between 1848 and 1880...the state issuing close to $1.5 million in payments for their scalps." (3/4)

"Unprecedented." "This isn't us."

Please read a book. Try Joanne Barker's 2021 "Red Scare: the State's Indigenous Terrorist," to start. On pages 28-29:

"In 1703..the Massachusetts Bay Colony offered.. between 250 and 300 pounds for Indian scalps." (1/4)

I visited the apartment building ICE raided on Tuesday today. Story to come, but you can walk right in. Half of the apartments have no doors on them. Children's stuff abandoned in some flats. *Citizen* residents told me they were arrested and held for hours in zipties. This is America

The thing that bothers me so much is not the “we have to enforce our borders and laws.” We do.

It’s the giddy joy and celebration they have at the misery of people far less fortunate.

This is so indefensibly insane: Speaker Johnson is refusing to seat Congresswoman-elect Adelita Grijalva because she'll be the 218th vote to release the Epstein files. Johnson swore in Rep Walkinshaw (VA) w/in 24 hours.

Johnson is abandoning his job to instead protect a convicted child sex predator

STEPHANOPOULOS: The Democratic proposal is designed to prevent millions of Americans from losing their health insurance, losing Medicaid coverage, or paying higher healthcare premiums. Why are you against that?

MIKE JOHNSON: That's an absurd statement
