Much like Bill Paxton, we have plumbed the deepest depths of the Atlantic (Division)!!

Is Ottawa set to surge up the standings? Can Toronto overcome the loss of Mitch Marner? What does an injured Barkov mean in South Florida? Many such questions!

Woke up feeling very gross this morning and couldn’t figure out why. Then it dawned on me… I picked the Senators to finish second in the Atlantic last night.

I ask for your patience and understanding in this time as I tart the long process of putting my life back together.

Good morning everyone! We are super excited to announce the return of Ducks Morning Brew for the upcoming 2025-26 season! And with McTavish (finally) signing a deal over the weekend, what better time to get the first one out than now?

Asked Joel Quenneville about his process in working with sexual assault survivors and organizations since we last spoke to him in May and whether there are any organizations that he is working with specifically/locally:

#FlyTogether
“It's been an ongoing process for over four years. I did a lot of work, talked to a lot of people. That’s an everyday thing. I think, as a group here, we want to make sure that we're going to apply these lessons as we go along here and make sure that, on our watch, something like that doesn't happen again.

“We've done a lot of work in the community since I've been here and through the Ducks organization, we've met a lot of people, we've done some fun things and I look forward to doing some more of it.”

Awesome of Derek to ask this question. The answer isn’t nearly specific enough, though. I want to know what are the initiatives and organizations he’s working with.

Pat Verbeek better fucking hope with all his heart that he and Q can show some amount of actual tangible work that Joel is doing with survivor groups in Orange County or they're both going to be out on their ass.
forevermighty.bsky.social
and that is to say nothing of the fact that said personal growth was the result of SOMEONE ELSE'S pain and suffering. and the amount of care and respect for that fact that Quenneville has shown in regards to that pain is all but fuckin zero thus far.
forevermighty.bsky.social
Its day 1 of training camp. this day has been on the calendar for months, and Q was completely unprepared for the moment. that is not something that inspires much confidence in the tales we were told of his personal growth on this topic.
forevermighty.bsky.social
When Q was hired Verbeek and Henry Samueli went out of their way to assure everyone that due diligence was done and expectations were made clear in terms of what Quenneville had and would continue to do in regards to working with sexual assault survivors groups.

where is any of that now?
forevermighty.bsky.social
Even more concerning that McTavish not being signed is going to be a bigger story than Joel Quenneville not being able to name a single survivors advocacy group in Southern California despite having all simmer to do something as simple as take a meeting, got to a luncheon, or just use google.
forevermighty.bsky.social
Not a great start to the season that the GM and HC were both asked pretty basic questions and neither of them were capable of providing a satisfactory answer.

"For a dollar name a sexual abuse survivors advocacy group"
Billy Eichner asking a random woman to name a woman for a dollar.

we might have to cancel the podcast after this...
