I hope for their families’ sake he was wrong about them being dead
Annnnnnd now the West Virginia governor says he's not sure about the condition of the National Guardsmen.

Maybe best to not tweet out that they are both dead until, you know, you KNOW that is absolutely the case...

precisely my thought. the president and his dumbass republican allies put these men and women into harm’s way for a political stunt and look what has happened
Whether this was random street crime or targeted political violence, I think it was bad for the president to unnecessarily put the National Guard in harm’s way like this. They simply don’t need to be there.

Council’s got two real powers: budget and (now reduced but still significant) upzoning/downzoning.

This is a pretty clear coalition on anti-property tax + pro-NYPD-spending + anti-major-upzoning

My bet is we get a ‘stasis’/member deference Council

One interesting change in the #trailsinthesky remake that I think didn’t work is that the remake gives various enemies, who only had a few attacks in the original, more different attacks. In the original those enemies’ characters could be seen by the same attacks it spammed. Here they are generic

I remember seeing a story years ago where a prison cook was caught having stolen $1.2 million of fajitas over 9 years.

One week he took off sick, someone else answered the order call and was like "what are you talking about? We don't serve fajitas."

NINE YEAR FAJITA HEIST

(technically nine year fajita fraud scheme but I'm counting this as a heist because it's funny enough)

The lesson of Merrick Garland, Fani Willis, and Chuck Schumer is you just have to have people in positions of authority that are effective.
".. He even argued that 'reasonable minds could differ' as to how to interpret the .. call between Mr. Trump and Brad Raffensperger ..

But "Mr. Raffensperger, in his 2021 book .. was unequivocal .. 'The president was asking me to do something that I knew was wrong.'"

The reason to remove Fani Willis is that she is bad at her job, has too many conflicts of interest, and could’ve just indicted Trump instead of trying to bring him in on RICO charges, a strategy that was already in the process of failing in the Young Thug/YSL case
There was no reason to remove Fani Willis

She had no conflict of interest

The fix is in in Georgia
NEW: The prosecutor who took over the Georgia case concluded that he couldn't press forward with it. His decision to drop the charges was quickly approved by Judge McAfee, ending the last remaining criminal case Trump faced.

One thing that’s going to be funny though is when enshitification comes all the way around to mean having to write your own email to demand a refund for your online purchase for being the wrong shade of yellow or whatever because the AI which used to do it for you is now paywalled.
Man, the problem with AI isn’t that nobody likes it. It’s that people love it and it’s not particularly good at the things they loving having it do.

And also it remains unclear exactly how much, in dollars, they will love it being mediocre at the things they want it to do.
i think tech and ai positive people are going to be in for a big shock when anti tech and anti ai sentiment becomes a major part of leftwing politics going forward especially as datacenters continue to destroy communities and raise electricity bills

I think we can safely say that the Leavitt's brother called ICE on his ex, the mother of his child, and I have to say: I have no desire to respect, find common ground or share the country with these monsters.
“After Ferreira was detained, Dos Santos Rodrigues said Michael Leavitt Sr. and his father, Bob Leavitt, reached out to her.”

“‘They just kept saying, ‘Tell her to self-deport,’” she recalled. “Self-deport to where? Brazil is not her home.’” www.bostonglobe.com/2025/11/26/m...
