Listen I’m not saying that I personally can fix European soccer. I’m just saying that I personally have ideas that are good enough that somebody should pay me seven figures for all of them. That’s all.

Oh also get ready for AI commentary on a whole bunch of leagues international streamers will take but not believe there is economic incentive to stand up production infrastructure for.
The way this ends/normalizes is these rights get gobbled up by international streamers.

The problem with it ending that way is they get gobbled up for pennies and leagues lose a (in some cases THE) major source of revenue.
the economics of league football outside a few large countries keep getting worse and worse

The news that Belgian football feared: as happened in France, DAZN is pulling out of its broadcasting deal with the ProLeague with immediate effect. Should no solution be found (which appears the likeliest scenario), the league's 16th round will not be broadcast in Belgium.

There are going to be a lot more good managers on the market at the end of this summer than there are now and I think that should probably impact how some teams view giving their current managers time this season.

I’m a big act like you’ve been there before guy.

But you’ve never slapped a teammate at Old Trafford to go down to ten men and then scored a goal and then ground out the victory.

You’ll never sing that, as I believe the saying goes.

The league is really determined to Streisand effect the players demands as hard as they possibly can huh?
This post by the USLPA needs to be seen and read.

The league withheld the materials from the USL Championship trophy celebration in retaliation for the players walking out in their USLPA shirts along with cutting out broadcast angles with that message.

Everton had a man sent off for slapping his teammate in the face and are currently (correctly) being described on the postgame show as magnificent.

God I love this sport.

Sure this post is just about Everton I guess but, you know, we can all use our imaginations.
Do not remember the last time I enjoyed a soccer game that much. We should slap each other in the face more often.

Think we can all agree Keane made more contact with Gana than Mbuemo.

Trumpian politics has, as a hallmark, transferee the idea of political vote to expression of personal identity. Trump actively argues that supporting Trump (or opposing him then by definition) makes your life better or worse.

Thing is. It doesn’t. And it takes people about eight months to get it.
Like the Afghanistan pullout it also came at the same time people started getting mad about the economy and was the moment people who weakly supported him were like well I didn't vote for this.
it's very fitting that in retrospect, Trump's failure to oust Jimmy Kimmel was the point that his administration turned. It's been all losses ever since

I know Rose Lavelle is famously a daughter of Cincinnati, but she has to be one of the most spiritually Boston athletes I’ve ever seen.

Also people fuckin love astronauts.
Kelly is I think going for it. I have him in the large pile of Dems I’d be perfectly happy with as President
Mark Kelly: "The message he sent a couple days ago was he declared that loyalty to the Constitution is now punishable by death. Those are serious words coming from the president. He's trying to intimidate us. But I'm not going to be intimidated."
November 24, 2025 at 1:58 PM
Could be worse. I have to hear about gooners all the time.
As someone well-versed in biscuit posting: one of the most tedious days of my entire internet life was having an article about my family biscuit recipe go viral and having Brits and Australians line up to get patted on the head for reminding me that the word means something different where they are

Two months ago Dems were fretting over fairly indifferent polling. Now we’re here.

Boy Thomas Frank is really making Spurs smoke the whole pack after catching them complaining about being too open under Ange huh.
November 23, 2025 at 5:20 PM
This was again good politics from centrist Dems making the rule of law a salient issue for a few news cycles in a way which broke through.

On the one hand it seems to have sunk in for everybody that he doesn’t have the juice for Trump in perpetuity which is good.

Otoh that does seem to bring with it a whole new set of mostly equally bad problems!

The thing about DOGE is it accomplished neither its ostensible nor actual goals but did manage to cause a couple of holocausts worth of deaths internationally.

And the media finds none of those three things particularly notable.
It remains insane to me that DOGE was treated at the time as an impressive shock and awe accomplishment - “you can’t deny he’s getting stuff done!” - and then instantly memory holed by the press once if became clear it was a total failure by every possible standard including Musk’s own
Difficult to overstate how profound a failure DOGE was. Spending in FY2025 was not only than in FY2024 – but higher than it was projected to be when Trump first took office.*

The little bit of spending DOGE cut has already killed hundreds of thousands and will eventually lead to millions of deaths.

I continue to not really like the prevalence of “we’re being controlled by a malevolent cabal of perfidious Jews” on the ostensible left

The people apparently yearn for Woke Strasserism
This is a good example of obvious bullshit and why conspiratorial antisemitism makes you dumb. No, it doesn’t actually make sense to think the DHS gov account is managed out of Israel. that’s actually a really stupid thing to think.

Dungeon Crawler Carl was invented specifically for this purpose (it’s also a very high end audio production).
Schlock audiobooks are God’s gift tbh
Bad utilitarian prose though I just find a lot easier to stomach in my ears but I’ll dnf a book in a heartbeat for it.

A thing that I’ve definitely found interesting as somebody who listens to a lot of books and also reads a lot more traditionally is that the medium often really does impact my enjoyment.

Sometimes I’ll switch a series medium midstream and just find that it absolutely only works one way for me.
Look if this counts as “reading” for the definition of can you look at letters arranged on a page and derive meaning from them, a crucial life skill, the answer is no.

But that’s obviously not what assholes who tell you listening to audiobooks isn’t reading mean. www.nytimes.com/2025/11/23/o...
