ICE ended up returning the man, Saly, after realizing he’s a fucking US citizen with no criminal record, per his sister-in-law. These fucking animals.

The Times should visit a diner in Ramapo to find out what Real New Yorkers(tm) think of them
The Star Tribune should send someone to Staten Island to do a big feature on their views of Manhattan

I am not here for Europeans telling me Americans don't know how crazy things are. The Nazis are killing people over here at the moment so we're busy but thanks for the input. I had hoped for solidarity but I suppose I'll have to settle for sneering condescension instead.

even liberals pretended at the time that MASS DEPORTATIONS NOW convention signs was not a smack-in-the-face Germany 1933 portent, just another aspect of "polarized" partisan rhetoric

Ah an independent from Vermont though surely this … B. Sanders … must have been on the “political right”
The final Senate vote establishing DHS had 90 yeas and 9 nays; the nays were 8 Dems (inc. Ted Kennedy and both Hawaii senators) and 1 independent from VT who caucused with them.

YOU CAN JUST LOOK THIS SHIT UP.

The Obama prize was so embarrassing for exactly that reason. Even he was clearly embarrassed by it. He spent his entire Nobel lecture defending the wars he was currently overseeing, with placeholders for the ones he might start!
They think they can guide current events by elevating shitheels like Kissinger, not realizing all it really does is make them look like saps.

Absolutely, but also what Trump really does is reveal how corrupt and base the institutions he tries to force his way into are. The NPP has always been a scummy award, elevated by its association with a few genuine secular saints, but ...
It's wild how even the stuff that Trump covets turns to shit. The Nobel Peace Prize was the most well-known humanitarian achievement the world had, and in one year, he has ruined its reputation. Its aura is gone, pulled over his event horizon beyond which no regard can escape.
