*deep, shuddering sigh* This essay by Arsh Sharma of Fuzzculture hit me extra hard this morning.
Why Society Hates Artists (And Always Has)

I often watch movie reactions in the background while I work because I enjoy seeing how folks respond to the films I love. I do get frustrated when a much older movie has been memed so much that one person in the group has an inkling of a major event, and then casually spoils it for everyone else.
You're more than welcome! I really enjoyed your book and hope that you find much success!
I don't have much myself, but I do try to support my fellow creators in small ways when I can. So I picked up a copy of this book by @skelton-porter.bsky.social . Just finished it and it is a fun addition to my little Samhain collection. As always, ghost doggos and kittahs are the best part!
Credits left to right, top to bottom:
Unknown; Golden Art Nouveau; Universal Fantasy; Hidden Realm; Robin Wood; Chinese; Wildwood; Smith-Waite (variation of Rider-Waite); HansonRoberts; Labyrinth; Ukiyoe; I Tarocchi Celtici; Supernatural; Joe Phillip's Divine Diversity; Modern Spellcasters; Del Toro
Your koi deck seems to be hard-to-get/not-available now, perhaps because you mentioned it! ๐Ÿ˜ฏ I have more decks these days than in these images, but this was the last time I shared pics when someone wanted to know how the 3ofS (their favorite) compared.
I collect tarot decks because I love to compare the ways different artists interpret the same symbolism. The Queen of Swords has been my personal avatar since I first saw the Hanson-Roberts deck in my 20s (still my favorite). I wonder if you would share an image of your deck's Queen of Swords?
I'm glad I was able to catch you tonight. I was thinking while you were discussing more unusual superhero powers that you probably shouldn't research Mr. Lifto from the Jim Rose Circus Show (which used to be the JR Circus Sideshow back in the day when I saw them a few times).
For me, it also hits extra hard that Joanna is a passionate artist...
'The Stepford Wives' (1975) is still terrifying. Trust is gone. All that matters are their looks and obedience. And at the end, each time I watch it, I always wonder... What about all of those Stepford daughters... What is the future for them?

It's akin to touching art on museum walls - you just don't do it. If you want to collab with the artist on something, you have that convo & set the rules. But you don't just snatch art off their social media & publicly alter their work to eliminate your perception of "mistakes". Rude! (2 of 2 posts)
Why do I keep seeing posts about artists, without the least attempt at seeking permission, "fixing" the work of other living artists? Experienced artists used to all understand these basic rules. You don't alter the work of other artists, esp if you didn't consult with them first. (1 of 2 posts)
"Private" went on my side of the doors to let any guests know not to just walk into the family space unannounced. And "Podcast" was another one of my pipe dreams where I hoped to create something in that format with other local artists - obviously never used.(2 of 2 posts)
Brought these home today from the studio space I'm losing. These are handpainted door hangers I created to let my sister's fam know who was in the space each day. "Away/Creating" let them know if I was there or not. "Guests" let them know if someone else was visiting me in the space. (1 of 2 posts)

The gloaming has faded now and the veil grows thin. Bright flame ignites the bone fires, while the Good Neighbors roam round distant dolmens and beloved souls follow the soft light of candles home.

If it helps you with future schedules, I just wanted to confirm that your JSP time/date for the movie watchalong (Hocus Pocus & Coraline) began at 9 pm on Oct. 30th for the east coast of the US. That will adjust a bit after the next time change (something annoying everyone wants to just stop).*sigh*

A cute little thingy I was given as an early b-day prezzie... so tiny! What a delightful Pocket of Joy after a rather unfortunate day!
Yay! I'll get to attend a watchalong again because I can play my discs on the TV & your stream on the phone (it only works for me with hard discs because I can't split the device). If I've got it right, I believe that will be around 9-10pm on Thursday night in this region. Snack planning starts now!
