One of these days I'll make a whole big deal containing my headcanons on the different troll varieties and dimorphism because I spend way too much time thinking about the Intricacies and I have a whole system to go off of by now

Their coastal lifestyle also made them share traits with jungle trolls. They have a unique partial fur covering, tend toward neutral skin tones with bright hair colors and many have faint bioluminescence speckles.

They're a very unique bunch the likes of which can't be seen anywhere else.

Over many years and many generations of trolls living in the temperate climate if Darkshore, they changed. They became diurnal and some of their features came to resemble their distant forest troll cousins while still mantaining their original dark troll traits.

My take on the Shatterspear is that they're something very unique among trolls. There's no other group that's quite like them.

The tribe's ancestors were dark trolls who spread out from Hyjal. A group of them came to settle in Darkshore in what is known today as Shatterspear Vale. +

Something that's canon but I completely ignore in my personal lore is the Shatterspear's origin. Canon says they're jungle trolls who left Stranglethorn and sailed away to Darkshore, but my personal lore says they're native to Darkshore.

Dude who was made shadow hunter way too young and given a lot of responsibility but instead of humbling him it made him cocky because it turns out he's really good at it, until eventually he bites off more than he can chew and ends up a crumpled wet tissue on the floor that needs rescuing

Something that's been consistent ever since I got Bao is people seeing him both IRL and through pictures and assuming he's female

It's not a big deal obviously but it happens often enough to make me curious. What is it about him that makes people instinctively hit him with a she/her

If you asked me a few years ago I would also possibly accept that maybe troll womenhave pointy bottom teeth but no tusks bc male trolls have pointy teeth on the bottom jaw too... but on the fem trolls those are explicitly called tusks and are customizable so I don't buy it and never will

Male trolls in game also have these pointed bottom teeth, but in the playable trolls they don't pop out past the lip. However I think it would be really cool if they did because I like weird teeth <3

I give my trolls both the regular tusks and also what I call "baby teeth" which are the little secondary "tusks" on the bottom jaw

In my canon the baby teeth pop out when a troll is around their early to mid 20s. They stay pretty small but they do grow slightly bigger as the troll grows older

Troll tusks are perhaps one of their most iconic features and one of my favorite things about them and I will not allow them to be gender-locked. Everyone has proper tusks in my house

I can accept that maybe troll women on average have smaller tusks than men, but only if we also consider individual variation and variation between tribes.

I will not however accept the "tusks" we have in game. Maybe the ladies have smaller tusks but still have TUSKS, not toothpicks
