xc1 was a standalone game and xc2 also mostly standalone right up until the end. and it doesn't really tread on xc1's toes while doing it. just a fun little connection between games

like the worst part of xenoblade 3 is also the connections it makes with the wider series because all they do is shove a Recognizable Thing in your face and it fucks with the story but at least xc3 is good in spite of that

like. xcx's story isn’t even good its actually pretty bad but the side content and worldbuilding was alright and easily the most interesting part of the game. and then chapter 13 shits alllllll over it. and for what. "xcx2: we're doing it again"?
