After driving down the market price of the overdose-reversing naloxone, we're now working to do the same for insulin.

California is taking direct action by supporting contracting for a quality, low-cost insulin supply — and we will keep fighting to slash costs for Californians.

In California, we didn’t wait for the pharmaceutical companies. We chose to become the first and only state to contract our own supply of insulin so that beginning January 1, insulin will be available for $11 a pen.
 
This is the California that invests in affordable healthcare for families.
