Democracy rarely falls all at once. It erodes slowly, quietly, through apathy & disengagement. Everytime someone says “I don’t do politics,” they help normalize silence and silence is fertile ground for authoritarianism.

A new ethics report shared with Democracy Docket, revealed that Republicans spent $2.9 million to stymie Missourians’ signature-gathering effort aimed at blocking the GOP’s new congressional gerrymander. But most notably, virtually all of that money went to a political firm with Trump ties.

9 fires in the old historic neighborhood of 19th century structures, all old wood. Looks like the arsonist meant to ignite the whole area.

I always thought MLK’s ‘Mountaintop’ speech was his best, which was given the day before he was killed. It is especially relevant given what is happening now in MN and elsewhere. He was getting many serious threats, which he references in his line “I may not get there with you.”
