The 'Seneca Chief' is now in the Mohawk Watershed, on its symbolic journey along the length of the Erie Canal. At stops along the way, we are reminded that the Canal had profound impacts on the Haudenosaunee, and it has become a pathway for invasive species.

The Peale mastodon at the National Portrait Gallery in 2021.

It’s the 1st mounted fossil skeleton displayed in the US (1805), and 2nd worldwide. Its original viewers didn’t know about evolution. Even extinction was a new concept. More fossils interpreted as history and art, please! #FossilFriday

A magnitude 7.6 earthquake occurred about 10 minutes ago in the Mindanao region of the Philippines, triggering all stations in our southeast Australian network. It’s offshore and around 50km, so hopefully far enough to not cause too much damage or trigger a tsunami.

"the EPA asked the court to roll back the regulatory standards currently in place for PFHxS, PFNA, and HFPO-DA, meaning water utilities would no longer have to ensure levels of these chemicals are under 10 ppt in drinking water supply"

Since I had a good experience with the Minolta 200mm lens yesterday, I decided to break out the matching 50mm lens from the same series in 1978, the MD ROKKOR-X 50mm f/1.7. Another positive test outing. #CohoesFalls #MohawkRiver #VischerFerryNaturePreserve #Photography
