we’ll see how his mayoral tenure shakes out but i am convinced that Mamdani has the juice. not just the charisma to win an election but the temperament to govern and the measured pragmatism of someone who genuinely believes what they’re saying and wants to accomplish real things.

Yesterday's heavy downpour here was a lot worse towards southeast Phoenix and Tempe. Heavy damage to a number of Tempe homes & buildings, numerous trees downed, and the Phoenix Zoo will be closed for two days for cleanup and repairs. (No animals injured, thankfully.)

The only possible exposure I had was going to San Francisco and being on public transit. The teenagers I was with didn't get it. But I even tested while I was up there in order to stay with a friend who is exceedingly careful, and with negative then. Haven't been anywhere else to speak of.

For a first ever COVID case, this isn't so bad. It seems like hay fever until the throat got scratchy. Now I've got some fatigue and relatively achy muscles. Tylenol knocked out the headache. Flonase has controlled the congestion. It's not great but it's not awful. Yay vaccines.
