What's it like inside your head?

some of my books had bigger gaps between them so now I have a need to fill in with things that happened. Like between 1 and 2 was 6 years. so much happened to a few characters that maybe they should have at least a novella. or may be it'll be a short story collection. I'm not sure how it'll work out

for later books, Kalua is usually quiet but when he has to talk, it's quite verbose. and if he's going to verbally eviscerate someone, he can talk for most of a page before pausing.

books 1-2, Loke prob talks the most. she explains religion, her plans, and just bickering with Magnar.

yeah, they all need a lot of work and it's been over 10 years since i wrote the first one, but since I've developed so much lore, I've been able to make sure some things keep continuity. Until I forget and can't find things >< my last book 1 edit added a LOT of pages and i still need the insert art

I just have a demanding job without the kids and i'm still trying to edit and finish the first book while i'm writing like, the 10th. I try and get a prompt in daily, but i dread having to market when the time comes. I have no idea how people do it.

so much easier to find things and go back to things. Forums were fantastic. also would let you pick up where you left off instead of having to scroll for 16 hours worth of stuff -_-

I've been in Noir mode, so it's been things from the 40s and 50s. Apparently I want to read things where everyone sucks. Just finished Strangers on a Train and The Black Angel before it.

it's like, a magnetic type system using their magical ore. he's still working out all the details with the actual science folk, but they're in the land plotting phases. He has to take land from people and that never goes well.

Loke will remember and it will take a lot to regain her trust. She seems easy to trust at first, but she's really not and keeps her most important cards close to her chest, but having to regain trust she'd actually given you would take a LOT of effort.

Loke doesn't really understand it but lets others tell her what she should be concerned about.

Kalua is very interested in technology and, with the advisor Ikal, work really hard to modernize the country. Kal is currently helping develop a train system

The god of knowledge has that honor. and... he's important in a subtle way but the prologue is his only actual appearance in book 1. Which is probably for the best because he's an a-hole. I guess when you know everything, you tend to be smug.

Technically Loke is on that spectrum. Likely more in the demi bucket. There isn't language for that for them, so she's mostly just dismissive of all of that.

Kalua is my Ace ace. But he doesn't come into play for a few books. And then never leaves me alone.

Betti! he was a persistent annoying antagonist in Novel 1 and by novel...6? he's one of my MCs. I'm glad to have largely written like 10 books before book 1 gets out because now i can flesh him out more for when he comes back better :D (the giant blond) (Image by @atomicmarshmallow.bsky.social)
