She was glad to support Nex and hoped that he would bring about a resurgence of practitioners. “That young?” Magnar was surprised and thought he might have been a young looking sixteen like Blu was when they met. “When I was twelve, I would have never thought about something like becoming a priest. I think I only cared about the farm and punching Palen in the face.” “Because people like Nex and I are the brains and people like you are the brawn. You probably still only care about those things.”

Laws are created by local governments and leaders. Where my mc hails, Holom (and later Holom-Caax) has a monarchy where the queen decides what is or isn't law. Later down the timeline, the king is trying to reduce the power of all nobility and creating citizen councils

Loke would think whatever is happening is unnecessary waste of time.
Magnar would have gifts, compliments, reservations or at least try really hard to make something good and since his date would find it superfluous, he'd let the rest of the night be calm and relaxing.

"Anyway, let's hit the water. It's a long trip on a boat this small. You'll have to make do with the small cabin for shelter from the sun and water." Ezra disappeared into the small enclosed area that held his steering system. Loke backed away from Magnar and went to the railing and leaned over the edge. "He's so exhausting." She wondered if she could find it within her to relax. "Why don't you just tell him you're not interested?" Magnar leaned over the edge beside her. "I have, so many times before. His sister used to set him straight when we were little, but she’s not here. And now he suspects we are romantically involved. I'm surprised I'm not being sick over this railing."

through the series i have 2 chars that manipulate time in different ways. Loke, eventually, learns to slow, then stop time. and extreme circumstances, reverse it. only lasts a short time. Kalua creates time bubbles where inside moves faster than the outside. good for training and healing when sick

Souls are a THING. A few times they're forcibly removed from a living body and put back in. But generally, the body has to burn to release the soul, it goes to the death god who cleans them and gets them ready to go into a new vessel. some are blended with the soul of a god

Magnar crossed his arms. “I’m still not too fond of being called bait.” Loke ignored him and continued to explain her reasoning a little. “With Cayo, we’ll surely have a safe journey through the city. Additionally, he’s familiar with it and can navigate us the right way or an alternate way if needed. With so many of us in one place, I will handle defense as best as I can. Blu and Ikal can take care of range and Makoa, you’re my last resort. Everyone else, I didn’t pair any of you with your elemental weakness, so you should be able to support each other and balance your skills.”

got my 15 year anniversary gift from work today. it's a milk frother/hot chocolate maker. I had fancy chocolate shavings from Ethel M's stashed away and thought this was the best time to use something snazzy in my fancy machine. A+ hot chocolate and now I'm ready for bed.

Bwahahaha! Loke and Magnar fight ALL THE TIME about EVERYTHING. most of it is because Loke's being reckless and Magnar wants to keep her alive. He can't get paid if she dies! but they will 💯squabble over everything just to be petty with each other.

There are 2 major religions. If you follow my group, you'll see one is more correct than the other. For them, they are big believers in fate and while there are things you think you are deciding, what is meant to be will eventually happen. Fate doesn't care about little things. Just major points.

Loke never really "fell in love." It could be read that she's somewhere on the aro/ace spectrum. She does love her family, but none of it's terribly romantically.

Magnar fell in love at 8 years old with a girl with a forlorn expression he wanted to make smile one day.

to access the godspace, you'd have to be a god. and a god in mortal form basically dissociates on the outside while their subconscious mind can go in and meander around and communicate. A person on the outside may look bored or like they're taking a snooze.
