Ashrah doesn't, but she gains one: Sareena. Their sisterly bond is what saves Ashrah from going down a path of destruction she wouldn't have escaped otherwise, and what helps Sareena to climb out of the darkness she had long fallen into.

The inciting incident of the story involves the MC learning her brother is alive and needs rescue. She spent the previous six years believing he died in the disaster that destroyed her home colony. Like her, he's a holy person in his 50s and is a major character starting with book 2 of the trilogy.

Four of the crew have siblings - Viola's twin brother Seb is the only one who's appeared alive on-page, though, since Fest and Archer's siblings aren't in the city, Mortimer doesn't have any, and Sabbat knows he *probably* has some half-siblings but doesn't know more than that.
