This is why, more and more, I just can't muster up any desire to be a success in the mainstream art world. They want AI to make "content" for people who don't care.

I care about my art, and I want to give it to an audience who cares.

I do not want to be big and popular but I do want to look back on this and know it made a difference in the lives of people who needed it the most. I just need the right people to find it.

People who miss virtual worlds and find comfort in the unknown and knowing their choices have greater meaning.

I do already have a Discord server, but people have very valid reasons for not wanting to sign up there either. The best way to build a safe community space for this game, I think, would be to do this.

I think there is more to being social than bad faith debates. Time to be the example.

If protecting people from harmful rhetoric means I want an echo chamber then so be it. I'm done acting like these people are trying to debate anything in good faith and not just spreading death cult propaganda, and watching my community get blamed for speaking up when we get hurt

It would be incredibly small because of the focus on players of this game, and maybe even smaller if I can make it invite only. But it would eliminate a LOT of issues as a result and keep my players safe from TOS changes that disproportionately target victims and minorities, a trend in 2025 it seems

The idea is to build on a decentralized open source platform, have character accounts/programmed bots (no AI) to interact with (can affect the overall story), as well as the ability to communicate with other players, and to place focus on protecting trans users and minorities and moderating AI.

Maybe to you that isn't harmful, but that's an extremely priveleged stance to take. Hope someday you wake up to the harrowing realization of what you've contributed to in terms of how trans people are treated at this point in history.

Harm is not just physical or through legislation. The stance you are taking is a broad, vocal announcement to every trans user here that you think we are less than you. That our human rights, our lives, are something that can be "healthily debated." That we are not deserving of the same respect.

I'm so sick of this weird idea that "healthy discourse" means just letting people say whatever they want with zero consequences or pushback. Healthy discourse goes two ways and shouldn't be actively harming either party. Who is this healthy for exactly? The engagement numbers maybe but def not users

I have tried to give the benefit of the doubt, I have tried to wait and see what your team will do, but it's becoming increasingly clear that people like me are not wanted here. "Upcoming healthy discourse project" the "healthy discourse" is about whether or not I deserve to just live my life bc some bigoted snowflake can't wrap their brain around using one different word in their sentence. I left Twitter because I don't wanna deal with that shit, I just want to exist.
