Seeing Ms. Rachel say exactly what needs to be said to Obama is so damn refreshing

Dear President Obama,
I saw in your statement you said "Israeli families" & "the people of Gaza."
Palestinians have families, too.
This kind of language contributes to dehumanization. Dehumanization is part of what caused so many to stay silent as 20,000 children were killed in this genocide.
I've sat with wonderful Palestinian families from Gaza. They look at their children just like we look at ours - with all the love & hope in the world.

Oil being delivered next door. My 3 year old was in our garden. As the delivery man was dragging the oil hose through next doors garden, she roared over to offer him “a wee go of the baby’s dummy?” He replied dead seriously, “no you’re grand I’m only after one”

It’s how we got it in the first place too. The agent we went with has been great about it, I remember how exhausting it was to be a first time buyer and getting out bidded all the time or competing with cash sales to developers

It also doesn’t push the price up much, just sliiiighly above what individuals have approval for from their mortgage provider - it’s not a big thing to do but every 1% increase in price sets a new standard.

Barristers cannot discriminate in favour of or against any person availing, or seeking to avail, of the services of the barrister on the grounds of race, colour, sex, sexual orientation, language, politics, religion, nationality, national or social origin, national minority, birth or other status.

It is also the duty of barristers to accept instructions in any case in their area of practice. As a result, barristers should not be identified with their clients or their clients’ causes or suffer adverse consequences as a result of being so identified. This fundamental principle arises from the Code of Conduct of The Bar of Ireland and is recognised in the United Nations Basic Principles on the Role of Lawyers and in the Council of Europe Convention for the Protection of the Profession of Lawyer.

The duty of barristers to accept instructions, sometimes referred to as the “cab-rank rule”, ensures that everyone is entitled to access to justice and is central to trust in the Irish legal system and the rule of law.

Jim Allister is a (v good ) Barrister & has said multiple times that he would have no qualms taking the case of an IRA person if he was approached because the cab rank rule is fundamentally part of the legal system here.
