I was not anticipating he'd be so...fuckable?

Portland's famous Unipiper was spotted at the Portland ICE protest where he played his bagpipes in front of Santa, Mr. Potato Head, Garfield and more -- all while surrounded by bubbles.

More on how the tone of Portland's protests has shifted: www.oregonlive.com/crime/2025/1...

It’s dinner time for the police. Appears to be pizza from a Salvation Army van.

This is what Disney is missing out on by not hiring proper weirdos

To expand on my Tron pitch (which Disney rejected mainly because I just made it up)

A knockoff Candy Crush ”free with ads” game and an abandoned phone app for a discontinued smart popcorn popper are abducted for gladiatorial experiments by developers creating a backdoor virus.

Gripe time: I hate how all the showstoppers now are just "build an elaborate sculpture." This isn't supposed to be a show about construction skills.

I wasn't expecting how strongly betrayed I felt when I discovered that Noel Fielding wears $800 couture sweaters and not some random shit he found at a thrift store

Spontaneous Carcinometamorphosis, commonly known as Mancini's disease after the famed boxer-turned-crustacean Bruno Mancini, is a disease that will slowly turn skeleton to exoskeleton, hands to claws, lungs to gills, until a human being finds itself where all the roads of evolution lead: crab.
A textbook anatomical drawing of a human with a large crab claw for an arm. Some of the organs inside appear to be that of a crab's. A black-and-white photo of a patient in a hospital, being held by two nurses. The man's arms are now crab claws, and his skin is turning into an exoskeleton. His eyes are now at the end of stalks. A textbook showing three black-and-white pictures of a person's arm turning into a crab claw. The three stages read "Presymptomatic patient", with a regular man's arm, "Exoskeletalization", where the arms turns hard and segmented and the fingers start fusing, and "late stage transformation", where the arm is fully crab-like.

Successful cleanout so far--half these shirts are gone! Thanks to everyone who has helped support my rebuilding efforts!
gwenckatz.bsky.social
It's closet cleanout time! I'm selling off all my one-off shirts for just $10 each. These are one-of-a-kind upcycled shirts, vinyls, and test designs. If you see one you like, grab it now--last time they went fast!

Proceeds will help me rebuild from the Eaton Fire.

Meet my newest creation Edith the Moth Phantom! I designed and hand-sewed her. She enjoys singing sea shanties with her cryptid band. They perform primarily for the moon. She also likes appearing to travelers as good or bad omens, depending on her mood.

Here's a lovely photo of my fabric art moth phantom. She's a white moth phantom with a gray face, large twinkly black eyes, and a little frown. She has curly white antennae. There are black and gray oval markings on her wings. There's a beautiful galaxy print fabric in the background. Here's another lovely pic of Edith. In this one, she's resting on my palm.

Hey folks, remember a couple of months back when I said I found a funky scifi paperback trade from the library? Was the first book from this series:

In the '80s and '90s, CJ Cherryh questioned and critiqued our assumptions about how gender is expressed and understood, creating science fiction narratives that reflect trans identity and experience. It's time for a retrospective.

A lot of stuff marketed as "adult humor" is really just juvenalia. But there is certainly a lot of humor for adults based on subtle understandings of human behavior that kids don't have. For instance I think this is one of the funniest bits of Austen, and kids wouldn't get it.
gwenckatz.bsky.social
A fourth major one is "I need to transport large amounts of stuff and/or passengers."

Very handsome! I love that the juvenile doesn't have the white tail yet.

What could this new game location be? A secret base, of course! This is what the whole game is building to! I talk more about it in my new blog post on Steam:

A scene all in teal and orange: A giant building with 1950s "googie" architecture sits in the middle of a rainforest. It has a sharply triangular roof, a radar dish, and off in the distance some sort of observatory with a laser nozzle sticking out of it. Agent Epsilon isn't shown here but you can read her dialogue: "This is definitely... the base I’m looking for... but that’s a lot more hiking... than I usually do on a mission!"

I love "comparative calm." Like even the both-sidesing lists one side as "literal hell" and the other side as "meh, could be worse I guess."

Hard to find a more obvious example of the journalism adage “If someone says it’s raining outside and someone else says it isn’t, your job is not to quote them both, your job is to go outside.”
davidcorn.bsky.social
A classic case of irresponsible both-sidesism from the NYT. The story is that Trump and MAGA propagandists are lying about Portland to incite a conflict, not that there are different views of the matter.
