“I once met a former bodyguard of one billionaire with his own ’bunker’, who told me his security team's first priority, if this really did happen, would be to eliminate said boss and get in the bunker themselves. And he didn't seem to be joking.”
Tech billionaires seem to be doom prepping. Should we be worried?
The debate is ramping up about what happens if - or when - computer intelligence overtakes humans

It’s that tiiiiiiiiiiime again! Women of West St. Paul is launching a flash mobilization of our annual pad drive. Period poverty is pervasive and a need in food shelves nationwide. Neighbors, Inc. needs US. In fact, they came and asked if we could help, because we get it done.
A half a ton of pads and tampons at Neighbors Inc for a drive

Things today's White House autism announcement did not do:

-Discuss strategies to increase supports and services for autistic people/families
-Highlight why autistic people and families deserve respect, not pity or fear
-Endorse one speck of autism research that is not dangerous pseudoscience

Hey a thing I really don’t want to get lost here is that while Tylenol doesn’t cause autism, IT’S FINE TO BE AUTISTIC. Let’s not grant them the premise that autism should be eradicated in our way to correct the science, okay? Okay.

"Pat, why do you carry that ridiculous 600mm lens on long hikes?"

Buddy, I can see mountains reflected in the eyes of a trailside pika.
A pika sits on a mossy rock. Tighter crop of the same pika, focusing on its head. An even tighter crop, focusing more on the pika's eye. An extremely tight crop of the pika's eye, emphasizing their reflection of an early morning mountain scene.

Daily bunny no.3031 falling for the oldest trick in the book
A bunny has set a simple, cartoonish trap: THe box propped up with a stick. Inside the box as bait is a little matcha strawberry cake. A second bunny, very gullible, eyes the cake with curiousity, while the trap-setting bunny lies in wait.

A little while ago, my parents' cat Bridget went missing. As the weeks dragged on, they became extremely worried. My dad devised a way to distract himself: he began to paint Bridget's adventures, imagining her travelling through time and popping up in some of art and music's most iconic scenes.
Bridget with The Beatles on Abbey Road. Bridget hanging out in Grant Wood's American Gothic. Bridget in Bruegel's Hunters In The Snow (with a freshly caught mouse). The Cat With The Pearl Earring.
