There is so much of this going around in so many spaces lately. I get wanted to protect your IP but the enforcement is getting so aggressive it hurts the IP owners themselves by crushing the enthusiasm and free marketing of fans 😔😒😢

It’s a mall model now. It’s like asking the cashier at Macy’s what your outfit will cost and they go “the tie you want here is $40, why would I know what the stuff you will buy from the other stores will be? I don’t even know what other stores you are going to.”

It’s exactly what it is. 50 years ago everyone just worked for the hospital as staff on salary. Now they are all renting space and basic services from the hospital.

And each of those entities have their own deals worked out with insurance, could it be done? Maybe? But it’s such a hassle no one will do it for you.

It’s a loud symptom of how broken our system is. Believe me I am NOT defending it.

They don’t even have that though. There’s a lot more to it, character limits stink, but to summarize all the people involved are separate entities. The hospital basically rents the room and provides some folks, the anesthesia is a different company entirely, etc.

I legit don't know why sorcerer is in the game as-is, no one plays it for a reason. I think you're right that making it a proper psionics class, with a separate powers list, is the right play. Maybe something like a point pool to power it, short rest recharge like warlock?

My mother was in medical billing, this stuff is wild. They do a transcript of exactly what happened, have to write it up, like every time they put a piece of gauze on you, that's a line item. It's horrible, no one can plan for the bill or make decisions on care like this.

They won't know the cost until it's over, unfortunately. Every little thing they do - which can't be predicted - needs to be billed for, things don't go as planned. I paid for 4 epidurals on my first kid, only 1 worked. That was something like $3k in unexpected costs right there!

Mostly because search has made itself really bad on purpose, to drive more ad views. (@edzitron.com has documented this very well.) It's a lot of effort to sort through ads vs. results, read each result, make sense of it, synthesize an answer, etc. so bad LLM is still easier than bad Google.

He’s the sweetest dog ever and it’s a favor to a friend but I don’t let animals in my bed if they are mine. I barely like petting my cats and I use the lint brush and wash my hands after. Maybe I’m weird I dunno but it makes me feel icky 🤷‍♂️

AGREED. I *cannot stand it*. Dogs are covered in oils that are gross to the touch and smell horrible. I'm dogsitting this weekend, this dog whines all night if he isn't in my bed, he's like 120 lbs and huge and reeks and as soon as he's out of here I'll need to wash my sheets.
